# AGENTS

# AGENTS.md - Scribe documentation

## Hard Constraints

* **Never hand-edit translations** — every locale folder other than `en/` is lingo.dev output. Fix a wrong translation at its source: the English page in `en/`, or the "Scribe" engine on lingo.dev (glossary, instructions, AI reviewers — lingo.dev MCP). A fix in `en/` is translated again by the Translate workflow once it reaches `main` (next rule). An engine-only fix changes no file, so that workflow finds nothing to do: name the pages to regenerate and leave the run to Gil. A hand-edited page fixes one locale once, and the engine makes the same mistake on the next run.
* **Never run the translation sync** — no `npx lingo.dev`, no `node scripts/localize-links.mjs`, no Translate workflow run of your own (`gh workflow run`). `translate.yml` translates on every push to `main` that touches `en/**` or `i18n.json`, then commits the locale folders as scribe-deploy-bot. Leave the locale folders and `i18n.lock` out of your diff: a new or changed English page stays untranslated until that run.
