# Install HTML signature in Gmail

> Install your Scribe email signature in Gmail by pasting the HTML into Gmail settings and setting it as your default for new emails and replies.

Follow these steps to install your Scribe HTML signature in Gmail.

## Prerequisites

* Your Scribe signature HTML copied to clipboard ([copy it from here](/en/integrations/signatures/signature-html))

  <Step title="Open Gmail settings">
    In Gmail, click the gear icon in the top right corner, then click **See all settings**.

  <Step title="Scroll down to the Signature section">
    In the **General** tab, scroll down until you find the **Signature** section.

  <Step title="Create a new signature">
    Click **+ Create new** and give your signature a name (e.g. "Scribe").
  </Step>

  <Step title="Paste your HTML signature">
    Click inside the signature text box, then paste your Scribe HTML signature using **Ctrl+V** (Windows) or **Cmd+V** (Mac).

    <Warning>
      Make sure to paste in the signature text box, not in the name field. Gmail will automatically render the HTML as a formatted signature.

  <Step title="Set as default signature">
    Below the signature editor, choose your new signature as the default for:

    * **For new emails use:** select your Scribe signature
    * **On reply/forward use:** select your Scribe signature

  <Step title="Save changes">
    Scroll to the bottom of the page and click **Save Changes**.
