# Signature too long for Zoho Mail

> Fix a Zoho Mail installation that failed because the signature is longer than Zoho Mail accepts, by making the signature template lighter and reinstalling.

When a teammate's installation status says their signature "is longer than Zoho Mail accepts," Zoho Mail refused the signature because of its size. The installation shows **Failed**, and the teammate keeps the signature they had before in Zoho Mail.

Zoho Mail doesn't publish a size limit for signatures. A signature reaches it when its template holds a lot of content: many blocks, long disclaimers, or many images and links.

## Make the signature lighter

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the signature template">
    In the teammate's installation status, click **Remove some element in your signature template**. The template opens in the editor.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Remove what the signature can do without">
    Remove blocks you don't need, shorten long texts such as disclaimers, and keep fewer social icons, images and links. Images are stored by Scribe and linked from the signature, so their file size doesn't count: their number does.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Publish and reinstall">
    Publish the template, then [install the signature](/en/install-signatures) again. When Zoho Mail accepts it, the status changes from **Failed** to **Installed**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

If the signature still fails, [contact our support team](https://go.crisp.chat/chat/embed/?website_id=520828ac-2ec0-40d7-a5fd-b14c66323a7a) with the teammate's email address.
