It depends on the size of your organization. In most cases, only one or two departments need to be involved — and the time commitment for each is minimal.

Small to mid-size companies (5–50 employees)

For smaller teams, one person can typically handle the entire setup. This is usually someone from the Marketing department or a company founder who has admin access to the email provider (Google Workspace or Microsoft 365). Since they have the permissions to connect integrations, sync the team directory, and design signatures, no coordination with other departments is needed.

Mid-size to enterprise companies (50–5,000+ employees)

For larger organizations, the setup is usually split between Marketing and IT:
DepartmentRole in setupTime commitment
ITConnects the email provider, installs the Scribe integration, configures the custom sending domain. This is a one-time setup.~10 minutes
MarketingDesigns the signature templates, assigns signatures to team members, and deploys them across the company.~15–20 minutes
In some organizations, Security and Legal teams may also need to review the setup — particularly around data handling, SSO configuration, or compliance requirements. Scribe is SOC 2 Type II and GDPR compliant, which typically speeds up this review process.

After setup

Once the initial configuration is done, Marketing operates Scribe independently. IT doesn’t need to be involved for ongoing signature updates, campaign changes, or new employee onboarding — Scribe syncs your directory automatically and Marketing can deploy changes with one click.
This division of labor is one of the main reasons teams switch to Scribe: IT does a one-time 10-minute setup, and Marketing runs everything from there — no dependencies, no delays.
