Yes. Scribe email signatures are designed to be responsive and display properly on mobile devices. How they work on mobile depends on which installation method you use: client-side or server-side.

Option 1: Client-side installation

With client-side installation, the signature is installed directly within your teammates’ email clients. Emails stay within your email provider and don’t pass through any external server. Mobile compatibility with client-side installation: When someone sends an email from a desktop email client (Gmail web, Outlook desktop, etc.), the signature displays correctly on the recipient’s mobile device regardless of their email app, because the signature is already embedded in the sent email. The limitations above only apply to composing emails from mobile apps. Why some mobile apps aren’t supported with client-side: Client-side installation relies on each email app supporting signature injection. Some mobile apps, like Gmail for Android and Apple Mail, don’t allow external tools to modify the signature in the compose window, which is a technical limitation of those apps, not of Scribe.

Option 2: Server-side installation

With server-side installation, Scribe automatically appends signatures to every email after it’s sent, regardless of which device or app your teammates use. This means full mobile compatibility across all devices and email apps:
  • Web (Gmail, Outlook)
  • Desktop (Outlook, Apple Mail)
  • iOS (Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail)
  • Android (Gmail, Outlook)
Server-side is the best option if mobile coverage across all apps is a priority for your team.

How server-side works

Emails are routed through Scribe’s secure servers where the signature is appended before delivery. Scribe cannot read or edit the content of your emails. The processing is limited to adding the signature. You can also combine both methods: if both client-side and server-side integrations are connected, Scribe defaults to client-side so users can see their signature while composing. Server-side acts as a fallback for devices and apps where client-side isn’t supported.

Which option should I choose?

You can set up both integrations at the same time. Scribe will use client-side when available and fall back to server-side for unsupported apps, giving you the best of both worlds.
